About the Artist
It began with a Vision
As a Daughter of the American Revolution (DAR), I have early patriotic roots. My Dad had a great love for this country and I do as well. This began with our founding fathers who relied on the Bible which helped form our union preparing this country as the place for futures. “In God we trust” continues today and is the path that guides my art today.
Decades ago, I had a painful introduction to art due to one teacher’s joyless way of relaying art rules. My thinking back then was, if every touch to the canvas had a rule, then choose a field with more certainty and less burden. I did just that and achieved a BS in Finance and a Masters in Computer Information Systems. I worked at IBM and Wang Labs and slowly felt something in me diminishing. I went into real estate which brought me closer to people. I opened my own company on Beacon Hill and worked 15-hour days to achieve my goals, which echoed my clients goals.
About 6 years into my business, I was invited by God’s Spirit to paint and was shown a very different path into art. This Spiritual intervention opened the door to art, that was so long ago closed. Through this experience, a new world into painting and writing emerged. “In God we trust”.
We are never alone
We sometimes do not realize the audience we have. Even if we may feel alone, we are not. Discerning a spiritual presence when taught to only acknowledge the physical, may take time. Reading scriptures, prayer, and pondering give me the best Information.
Inspiration once received can be found more easily
After the early years of everything being sourced from the Spirit, today, I find inspiration from my surroundings and joy in what I receive. The spiritual and the physical have been bridged, making the intervention mentioned earlier, of a true purpose.
How to View Art
Although the Artist paints the painting, it is the Art Buyer who lives with the painting. Regardless of what a painting may say to an Artist, it will always say something different to someone else. Allow yourself to see and feel and take in the inspiration. Have the courage to choose what you like. Buying a label does not bring inner satisfaction. When a painting speaks to you, that is the painting to purchase.
